Focus Timer

Deep work sessions with built-in audio and session tracking

Focus sessions logged

Xenith's Focus Timer helps you enter deep work states using timed sessions, ambient audio, and session logging — all in a distraction-free interface. Track every minute of focused work across your day.

Key Benefits

Flexible session lengths

Set custom focus durations from 5 minutes to 4 hours. Whether you work in 25-minute sprints or 90-minute deep blocks, Xenith adapts to your rhythm.

Ambient audio modes

Choose from focus-tuned soundscapes — brown noise, rain, lo-fi, or silence. Audio plays inside the timer so you never lose your flow switching tabs.

Automatic session logging

Every completed session is automatically recorded with duration, timestamp, and tags. Your focus history builds an accurate picture of when and how much you work.

Frequency, not streaks

Xenith deliberately skips consecutive-day streak counters. Instead you see how often you focus and a 90-day heat map of your sessions — so one missed day never resets your progress to zero.

How to Use Focus Timer

  1. 1

Open the Focus section in Xenith

Navigate to /app/focus from the sidebar. No setup required — the timer is ready immediately.

  2. 2

    Set your session duration

Choose a preset (25 min, 50 min, 90 min) or enter a custom duration. Select an audio mode if you want ambient sound.

  3. 3

Press Start and enter focus mode

The timer counts down in full view. A subtle progress ring keeps you anchored. Notifications are blocked in focus mode.

  4. 4

    Complete your session

When the timer ends, the session is auto-logged to your focus history. You'll see your total focused minutes for the day update in real time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Xenith's Focus Timer based on the Pomodoro technique?+

Xenith supports Pomodoro-style 25/5 splits but is not limited to them. You can configure any session length you prefer — many users prefer longer 90-minute deep work blocks aligned with ultradian rhythms.

Does the focus timer work offline?+

The timer itself runs entirely in your browser and continues counting even if you lose connectivity. Session data syncs to your account when the connection is restored.

Can I track focus sessions without logging in?+

You need a Xenith account to save and track sessions over time. Xenith is free to start — creating an account takes a minute and needs no credit card.

What ambient audio options are available?+

Xenith offers several built-in focus audio modes including brown noise (which research shows improves concentration), rain sounds, and a lo-fi music stream. You can also run sessions in silence.
